Caledon empty nesters and seniors have had few options available to them once they decide that the upkeep of a family home and property takes more time and energy than they would like to invest.
As I work with many empty nesters, I often hear about their difficulties in finding suitable housing. So, I did some research into Adult Lifestyle Communities, in, or close to Caledon. Please check back now & then as I will add other options to this list as I find them.
River's Edge - Bolton.
There is a newer Adult Lifestyle Condominium in Bolton that offers luxury resort-style living with prices starting in the low to mid $300's. Known as River's Edge, the low-rise, beautifully appointed condo offers an indoor pool, private lounge, exercise/yoga room, spa sauna, billiards and party room as well as a guest suite and landscaped gardens for full enjoyment.
River's Edge is now only available through re-sale; please check with me to see if there are any of these popular homes on the market.
The popularity of this beautifully designed building does tell us that there is a definite need for this type of housing in Caledon. Hopefully we will see more Adult Lifestyle Communities in the future.
Legacy Pines - Palgrave
Caledon's only Adult Lifestyle Golf Course Community is growing daily. There are re-sale homes in this lovely 700 acre property ranging between $400 & $600,000 as well as new development.
This upscale community offers condo apartments as well as semi-detached homes, including bungalows and bungalofts - some with walk-out basements.
Watermark - Mono. Just north of Caledon, through Orangeville, at Hwy 10 and Hockley Valley Road.
Watermark is a well planned community that caters to an adult lifestyle. The homes are all designed for one-floor living including bungalows and loft bungalows. The houses start with a 1532 sq.ft. bungalow with 2 bedrooms priced around $350,000.
Because this community backs onto conservation land, there are homes with walk-out basements and no one behind! I find one fo the most difficult changes for people who have lived in Caledon, is that we have so much space - we are not used to having our neighbour too close!
The neighbourhood will include a community recreation centre that offers a games room, woodworking shop, a crafts studio, library, video lounge and party room. It is also adjacent to a 150 acre conservation area, so whether you enjoy indoor or outdoor activities, Watermark offers an exceptional lifestyle.
Last time I checked in with a couple of my clients who moved from Inglewood, they were loving it. With the smaller house and less yard work, they are having fun travelling and pursuiting their many hobbies & interests!

Rosedale Village- North Brampton.
Without mincing words, I know a lot of people shy away from Brampton. If you never check out Rosedale, however, you are doing yourself a dis-service. This gated community near Sandalwood & Hwy 410 has captivated every person I have ever introduced to it. The variety of housing option and prices, combined with the recreational facilities makes this adult community a hit.
Prices for apartment style condos start around $200,000 with the higher-end detached bungalows are now selling for over $500,000. There are also semi-detached homes and townhouses.
The club house offers a pool plus a multitude of other recreational opportunities and of course, there is the 9 hole executive golf course that is part of the package when you buy in this well-appointed village.
Dayspring - East Brampton near Queen (Hwy 7) and Goreway.
I recently sold a condo in this well-appointed adult community. The lady who was moving out had thoroughly enjoyed living in the community, but had decided to move in with her children to help with their young family.
The buildings are extremely well kept and offer a wide range of events and outings to keep people busy and socializing, if they wish! There is a games room, library, entertainment area, banquet hall with a full kitchen and guest suites, just to name a few. The neighbouring conservation area provides trails for long, quiet walks and a chance to enjoy nature.
This area is popular because it is also so close to Woodbridge.
